How congressional trade disclosure works

Under the STOCK Act, members of Congress must report stock trades over $1,000 within 45 days of the trade. Reports give a dollar range rather than an exact amount, and many trades are made by a spouse or a managed account, so a disclosure shows what was traded in the member's name, not always the member's own decision. To see whether following these trades has paid off, compare the Nancy Pelosi strategy and other backtested strategies against the S&P 500.
